Mindliss Metalfab is a small metal fabrication and design company based in Winnipeg Manitoba owned and operated by myself, Joel Liss.

Starting with my first vehicle when I was 16 years old, my passion for custom automotive work has grown into a small business that allows me to continue working on vehicles, as well as expand into custom fabrication for industrial, commercial and household projects.

My education through the Mechanical Engineering Technology program at Winnipeg’s Red River College has allowed me to advance my business through the use of CAD software and engineered designs.

While in school, I began to use these programs to design and cut custom parts for fellow truck enthusiasts. I have continued on this path and have expanded into a full line of standard brackets and tabs as well as continuing to work closely with the customer to create the custom parts they want. Whether it’s a simple bracket, a completely one off chassis component, or a laser cut sign or logo for your business and car club, I’m up for the challenge. Working with a wide range of materials and thickness, I can turn your vision into an affordable, high tolerance laser cut part.

On the automotive side, I specialize in large custom projects such as custom chassis work, and frame builds. When time permits I will also take on more basic suspension work as well as custom sheetmetal jobs including custom bed floors and interiors. I pride myself on designing and building innovative and fully functional suspensions as well as clean and effective basic designs for those who don’t quite want to go ‘all out’. Starting with my own truck and then specializing in custom air ride and metal fabrication while working at House of Kohler, I have now made the leap into my own shop where I plan to expand on the experience I have already gained and continue to offer high quality work at affordable prices.

Having my own shop with a variety of metalworking tools, it only made sense to expand into industrial and commercial fabrication and design. For 2 years I was employed as an industrial engineering technician, where I designed and constructed many projects for industrial use such as storage racks, work benches, weld curtain rail systems and safety guardrails. Building on this experience and my education, I now offer similar services through Mindliss Metalfab; with fast turnaround times, affordable pricing and the same high standard of quality that I hold to my automotive projects.
